Our style of yoga focuses on the balance of strength and flexibility. Realizing that both strength and flexibility are important; you can improve your physical practice quickly, reduce risk of injury and maintain a peace of mind.

 

North Brunswick SCHEDULE

Gentle Yoga – For those new to yoga or with therapeutic issues. Moves slowly and gently. You may attend this class with little or no yoga experience. Pregnant women welcome. Ongoing.

*Intro to Yoga 5-Class Series – Introductory class meets once per week for 5 consecutive weeks. Learn foundational yoga postures (asanas) and alignment, breathing practice (pranayama), meditation, deep relaxation (savasana), and basic yoga teachings. This class is progressive. If you want to attend our beginner or multi-level classes, we recommend the Intro Series first. The journey starts here.

Basics Yoga – The next step for graduates of Intro to Yoga. We focus on the basics, keep alignment principles and introduction of more challenging poses than the Gentle and Intro classes. This class is taught at a slower pace than the multi-level classes. Focus is on breath, alignment, and deepening awareness.  Ongoing.

Multi Level Yoga – For all levels of yoga experience. Asana variations are presented so that students may work at their individual level.  This class explores asana alignment, vinyasa flow, pranayama, meditation, deep relaxation and yogic teachings. Builds core strength, flexibility, and balance of body and mind. Beginner through advanced levels welcome; some previous yoga experience recommended.  Ongoing.

Mindfulness Movement and Meditation – connect to your stillness with a basic asana practice, and meditation. In this class we experience various styles of meditation.
Wednesday led by Michele Granberg, MA Ready to reduce stress and enjoy the many benefits of meditation? Join Michele Granberg for simple instruction and guided meditation practice. Drawing primarily from the principles of mindfulness, Michele weaves in breath-work, visualization, positive messages and chanting for an enriching meditative experience. Michele trained with Dr Jon Kabat-Zinn and has over 20 years experience.
Saturday led by Dr. Siobhán Gibbons Ed.D. is a licensed psychologist in the state of New Jersey. For the past 7 years she has been teaching stress management, mindfulness meditation and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction. She completed her Ed.D. in Counseling Psychology at Rutgers University Graduate School of Education. She also a Certified Yoga Instructor.

Kickin’ Asana – This is an intermediate/advanced instructor led practice. This class is more challenging than the Multi-Level class. You must have yoga experience and be familiar with yoga asanas. We strongly recommend that you are able to do handstand at the wall and urdhva danurasana to attend.

Ericsson Yoga Classes Class

10 Week Series, Wednesdays 5:15-6:15pm
June 7- Aug 9, 2017
Here’s how it works. We are doing a 10 week session. You can either sign up for 10 classes or 8 classes. This MultiLevel class will have fun, dynamic and challenging yoga poses and flow sequences each week. It is recommended that you bring 2 yoga blocks and blanket or cushion to class.

If you are a returning student, you do not have to print the form out. I have the previous sheets. We will have a sign in sheet for each week. When you come in, please sign in at the beginning or end of each class.

Private Yoga Instruction: $85/60 minutes email or call to book

4 Private sessions for 1 person in the studio: $300

Yoga Therapy for 1 person in the studio: $105/60 minutes

What you need to know…

We have a few mats at the studio for you to borrow in case you forget or need one. We highly recommend purchasing your own mat for health & sanitary reasons.

We offer 10 % Discount to Seniors** 62+ and F/T Students* 14-22, w/ID. *A student is an individual in high school or full time undergraduate school and between the ages of 14-22. **Senior and Student discounts MAY NOT be combined with ANY other discount offer; does not apply to Intro to Yoga Series or to our Sizzling Summer series.

CLASS CARD POLICY: All class cards have expiration dates. Class cards can be used for any class on the regular schedule and you may attend classes multiple times a week. Class Cards are NOT refundable. Extensions will only be granted in unique circumstances such as injury or extended illness.

If your 8 or 10 class card expires and you have not used all your classes, you may extend the card for 3 months, for the following fees:

$25 for 10 Class Cards

CLASSES: Classes with fewer than 3 people may be 1 hour.

Private Yoga Sessions

Wether your starting out or you want to focus your balance and flexibility on a personal level, at Smart Asana Yoga we offer private sessions.

Summer Special: Private Yoga Instruction: $65/60 or 4 Private for 1 person in the studio: $240
